There are many beautiful picture books about Frida Kahlo around right now, including this one  but Frida deserves a mention for its artwork (by Spanish artist Ana Juan), which  combines the bright and the surreal in a perfectly unsettling,  Kahlo-esque way. I also liked its focus on Frida’s life as a young girl in the context of her family. Gorgeous.
